Day 1: Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you are met by your professional safari guide and begin your scenic drive North to Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, enjoy rolling hills, terraced farmland, and picturesque villages that define Rwanda’s countryside.
Depending on you arrival time, you can do a Kigali City Tour visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial and Craft shops for some of the amazing art works. On arrival in Musanze in the afternoon, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. A senior ranger guide will take you through rules are regulations and in groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek. Head into the forest looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
Spend one hour with the habituated gorilla family as you watch them play, feed and groom each other. After this magical encounter, trek back the starting point, meet your driver guide and return to your lodge for an afternoon of rest. Alternatively you can head to the Iby’Iwacu Village for a cultural experience. Here you will be entertained by local dances and drama, meet the local people and interact with them, giving you a deeper insight into the life of local people, their culture and traditions. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Volcanoes Hike & Twin Lakes
After breakfast, head back to Volcanoes National Park for a scenic hike and culture immersion experience. After breakfast, meet your driver guide and head out for a hike to the Crater Lakes, Volcaoes Hills and lush farmlands with a local guide. Optional activities to do today include a visit to the Dian Fossey Tombo, local markets or cultural villages showcasing the traditional Rwandan life.
Spend the afternoon enjoying the amenities of the lodge, while reflecting on the day’s adventures and enjoy scenic views of the Virunga Volcanoes.
