This tour takes you on an adventure to Kibale National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will encounter chimpanzees in the forests of Kibale and abundant wildlife including 4 of the Big Five (lions, leopards, elephants and buffaloes) and many more in the savannah grasslands of Queen Elizabeth national park.

Detailed itinerary of 5 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari Tour
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, you will be picked up by our driver guide and after a short briefing about the safari, you will embark on a journey to Kibale National Park.
Along the way you will have a stopover at the Equator landmark for pictures and lunch in Fort Portal, then continue to Kibale National Park arriving in the afternoon, check into your lodge. You can decide to spend the whole day at the lodge or head to Bigodi Community for an encounter with the locals or Bigodi Swamp for a guided nature walk for encounter with various bird species and primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, baboons among others. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, you will head to the park for chimpanzee trekking. You will join other trekkers at the park’s headquarters for briefing about rules and regulations to follow while in the forests of Kibale and in the presence of chimpanzees.
In groups of 6 people, you will head into forests of Kibale looking for chimpanzees. In the forest you will also spot other forest creatures such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and many birds. When you locate chimpanzees, you will spend one hour in the presence of the chimpanzees watching them play on tree branches, collect fruits and grooming each other.
After one hour of being in the presence of the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park’s headquarters to pick your chimpanzee trekking certificates and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arrive in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: morning game drive and Kazinga Boat Cruise
You will wake up very early for breakfast and head to the park for early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains popular for game viewing for its huge concentrations of animals including antelopes, during the game drive you will see many animals including lions, leopards, elephants, warthogs, elands among others.
You will return to the lodge for lunch and then go to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise, the channel is home to huge concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles which you will see in the waters. Also, you will see herds of elephant and buffaloes along the banks drinking water, in the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: transfer to Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast at your lodge, you will checkout and embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park through the Ishasha Sector (southern region of the park) where you will spot tree climbing lions. Then you will transfer to Rwanda with border crossing at Cyanika border.
Along the way you will have lunch and proceed to Volcanoes National park arriving in late afternoon, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Mountain gorilla trekking and transfer to Kigali City
After early morning breakfast, you will head to the park for mountain gorilla trekking, you will meet other visitors for briefing at the park’s head quarters in Kinigi about the rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of mountain gorillas.
In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and head into the forests of Volcanoes looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on the gorilla family you are trekking and where they stayed the previous night, when locate the gorillas. You are allowed to stay one hour in their presence taking pictures and watch them go on with their life, watch gorilla females care for the young ones, silverback protecting the families and take pictures as long as your flashlight is off.
Trek back to the park’s headquarters where you will be rewarded with gorilla trekking permits then drive back to Kigali city, you will be dropped off either at the hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
