6 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari: This 6 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari takes you on an adventurous Uganda safari to Murchison Falls National Park, Kibale National Park and  Queen Elizabeth National Park for wildlife viewing and enjoy sights of 4 of the Big Five that is lion, leopards, cape buffaloes and elephant.

On this safari, you will also visit Kibale National Park for an encounter with chimpanzees and other primate species such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others

Detailed itinerary of 6 Days Uganda Wildlife Safari

Day 1: Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Kampala, you will be met by our guide and begin the panoramic drive north – west through the famous Luweero Triangle, then travel Masindi with a visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will track rhinos on foot.

After lunch in Masindi, you will proceed to Murchison Falls. After entering the park, you will head to the top of the falls where you will see the Nile River squeezing through the narrow gorge of rocks before freely falling to form Murchison Falls – the world’s most powerful falls.

Head to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

Begin your day with a cup of African coffee and head to the park for a game drive on which you will spot various animals such as Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena and leopards if you are lucky.

You will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will go for a boat safari upstream – the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the fall stopping just tens of meters from the Devil’s Cauldron. Along the cruise, you will marvel at hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks and Uganda Kob crocodiles drinking water on the shores. This area is home to many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork.

At this point, you will see where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley Escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodges and drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through the verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms along Albertine Rift Escarpments.

The Town Fort – Portal lies in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon – Rwenzori Mountains, you will en-route lunch. Arrive in the park in the evening, check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Kibale Chimpanzee Trekking – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have early breakfast and head to the park for chimpanzee trekking experience, you will have briefing at the park’s headquarters conducted by a ranger guide who will take you through the right way to behave while in the presence of the chimpanzees.

Then head into the forests in search for the chimpanzee, along the trek you will see other primates such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others. When you locate the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour in their presence while taking pictures and observing their behavior, watch them pick fruits and grooming each other.

Return to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon. You will drive to the south into Queen Elizabeth National Park, with en-route game drive you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have a cup of coffee and head to the park for early morning game drive along Kasenyi plains and Queens Mile where you will encounter various animals such as elephants, buffalo, water bucks, warthogs, lions, Uganda Kobs lakes and a variety of birds.

Return to the lodge for a full breakfast and lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a 2 hours boat trip along the famous Kazinga Channel where you will see hippos, buffaloes, kobs, elephants, warthogs among others.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Kampala/Entebbe

With all the previous days memories, you will have breakfast and head to the Kyambura Gorge for a primate walk to look for habituated chimpanzees in the gorge. After the primate walk, you will exit the park and proceed to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch and a visit to Igongo Cultural Village.

Later continue to Masaka with a stopover at the Equator for photography and a chance to stand in both southern and northern hemisphere. When you arrive in Kampala, you will be dropped off either at the airport or at the hotel.
