Detailed itinerary of 8 Days Uganda Gorillas, Chimpanzee and Tree Climbing Lions Tour
Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide, he will give a short briefing about the safari and be transferred to your hotel in Kampala. Check in at your hotel, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, you will embark on a journey to Lake Mburo National Park with a stopover at the Equator at Kayabwe for pictures on the equator crossing landmark. Proceed to the park arriving in time for lunch, check in at your lodge and in the afternoon, you will go for a game drive exploring the savannah grasslands of the park giving you a chance to spot zebras, impalas, warthogs, waterbucks and many bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After breakfast, you will head to the park for a boat ride on Lake Mburo where you will enjoy views of birds and many animals along the shores of the lake including zebras, warthogs, giraffes among others.
Depart from the park and embark on a journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park passing through the Kisoro Hills, you will have lunch along way. Arrive in the park in the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking experience.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking
Have early breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. A ranger will take you through rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking experience and how to behave while in the presence of the gorillas in the forests of Bwindi.
In groups of 8 people, you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and head into the forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 hours – 5 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas, where they spent the previous night and their feeding range. When you locate the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour in their presence while observing their behavior, traits and how they live in the forests of Bwindi. You are allowed to take pictures as long as your flashlight is off, trek back to the park’s headquarters where you will be rewarded with gorilla trekking certificates.
Return to the lodge or head to the Batwa Village for a cultural experience where you will visit the Batwa people and learn more about their life. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a drive through Ishasha Sector renowned for tree climbing lions which you will see resting on fig tree if you are lucky.
When you arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park, you will head to your lodge for lunch after check in with a game drive. In the afternoon, you will return to the park for a game drive exploring the savannah grasslands of the park watching many animals including zebras, warthogs, elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Game drive and afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga Channel
After breakfast, you will head to Kasenyi plains for a morning game drive, this area hosts large concentrations of antelopes which attracts many predators. During the game drive, you will watch many animals including lions, leopards, wild dogs, bush pigs among others.
In the afternoon you will return to the park and head to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise, Kazinga Channel is a natural water channel connecting Lake George to Lake Edward and is renowned for being home to the largest population of hippos in East Africa.
During the boat ride, you will spot a large number of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the waters, elephants and buffaloes along the banks of the channel and many water birds such as herons, egrets, crested cranes among others.
After the experience, you will head to Kibale National Park, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp Walk
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee trekking then head into the forests of Kibale looking for chimpanzees. The trek through the forests takes about 2 to 4 hours or more and expect to see other forest creatures such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys and many birds.
Once you find the chimpanzees, you will spend one hour in their presence observing their behavior and way of life in the forest. After one hour of being in the presence of chimpanzees, you will head back to the park’s headquarters to pick your chimpanzee trekking certificates.
Head to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, you will head to Bigodi Swamp for a guided walk through the swamp where you will spot many bird species and primates such as olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Transfer back to Kampala and Departure
After breakfast, you will checkout of the lodge and embark on a journey to Kampala with en-route lunch. When you arrive in Kampal, you will be dropped off either at the hotel or at Entebbe International Airport for your international flight back home.
