Detailed Itinerary of 4 Days Mountain Gorillas Uganda & Lake Bunyonyi Safari
Day 1: Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala after breakfast or at Entebbe International Airport upon arrival by our guide, thereafter drive to the Southwestern region of Uganda via Masaka, you will have two stopovers, at the Equator to take memorable pictures and buy souvenirs and also in Mbarara for lunch. Later continue driving through the scenic rolling hills with banana plantations and the stunning terraced Kigezi highlands.
It journey is filled with great views of various landscapes and on reaching the park, check in at your lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking and cultural encounters in Bwindi
On this day, you will have early breakfast, leave the lodge with packed lunch and report to the park’s headquarters for briefing at 7:30 am which includes the rules and guidelines for gorilla trekking. Head to the starting point and enter into the forest searching for mountain gorillas, you will be guided by an experienced and knowledgeable park ranger guide who will take you to see these gentle giants.
The time this trek takes is determined by their location in a place so it can take 2 to 8 hours, you will have a great time with them and after return back to your lodge. Refresh and later in the evening take a community walk to engage and see how people live around this area especially the Batwa people who are an indigenous group of people who used to live in the forests of Bwindi. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Bwindi to Lake Bunyonyi
After a leisurely breakfast, you will start your journey to Lake Bunyonyi found in Kabale which is the second deepest lake in Africa and a great place for birders. You will be welcomed by the sweet sounds of the birds from which the Lake gets its name “Bunyonyi” meaning small birds in local language.
Upon arrival, you will go for a canoe trip on the lake where you will be able to see various birds, communities, landforms such as the islands (the lake has around 29 islands). Take as many photos as you can. After the canoe ride, have lunch and in the evening go for a community/nature walk through the Batwa and Abaheesi communities.

Day 4: Return to Kampala
