7 Days Kenya and Uganda Safari : This 7 Days Kenya and Uganda Safari is a combined Kenya and Uganda Safari taking you on a safari adventure to the best safari destinations that is Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve where you will spot several wildlife species such as lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes among others on the Kenya part of the safari.

In Uganda, you will visit the popular Bwindi Impenetrable National Park where you will have an encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Detailed itinerary of 7 Days Kenya and Uganda Safari

DAY 1: Transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be welcomed by our guide and after briefing about the safari you will transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for lunch at your lodge after check-in.

In the afternoon, you will head for an afternoon game drive exploring the park and enjoying sight of various animals including leopards, cape buffaloes, zebras, rhinos and various birds such as flamingoes, cormorants and herons among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Masai Mara and afternoon game drive

After breakfast at your lodge, checkout and embark on a journey to Masai Mara National Reserve while enjoying breathtaking views and photography at the Great Rift Valley that spreads from the North to the South of Kenya.

When you arrive in the reserve, you will have lunch and, in the afternoon, you will go for an afternoon game drive. During the drive you will enjoy wildlife views like zebras, Warthogs, Wildbeests, Monkeys and Baboons and Giraffes. check in at the hotel, have lunch and drive for to your first game drive, enjoy views of Elephants, Lions, Giraffes, Zebras, Kobs, Leopards, Buffaloes, Antelopes among many others.

Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 3: Maasai Mara Full day Game Drive 

You will have an early morning breakfast followed by a full day game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

The full day game drive in Masai Mara will enable you to explore other areas of the Masai Mara National Reserve and the Mara Triangle to the Mara Bridge, which is at the border of Tanzania just next to the famous Serengeti National Park. You will make a few stops along the banks of the scenic Mara River as to allow you to stretch your legs during your game drive. With your packed lunch you will have a 1 hour’s snug picnic lunch break as you enjoy more of this park. Later have a guided community tour to the Masai village and experience the stable pastoral culture of the oldest inhabitants of East Africa, the Masai.

You will be fascinated by the men who stand tall and proud with their culture. The Masai women are bejeweled with bright beaded earrings and adorned with the brilliant red, blue and purple patterns of the shukas and scarves they wear. This will all be a 2 hour’s activity full with Traditional songs, dances, cultural practices and a community walk. Return to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Enjoy breakfast and be transferred to the Airstrip for your flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On landing at one of the airstrips serving Bwindi, you will head to your lodge for an evening of rest. Have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking Uganda – Bwindi

Enjoy early morning breakfast, meet your safari driver and transfer to the park’s headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing about the rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the mountain gorillas. You will be grouped into 8 people, be assigned a gorilla group to trek and head into the forests of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas.

Gorilla trekking takes about 2 – 8 hours depending on the movement of the mountain gorillas and where they spent their previous night and with a help of a ranger guide you will be able to find them. On finding them, you will be allowed to stay in their presence for one hour while observing their behavior and take amazing pictures. Alternatively, you can spend 4 hours in the presence of these gentle primates if you do Gorilla habituation experience. After the trek, you will trek back to the park’s headquarters to pick your gorilla trekking certificates then head for a visit to the local community being entertained by local dances and drama or lazy off at your lodge. Have dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will head to Lake Bunyonyi – a beautiful lake dotted with many islands and home to several bird species. When you arrive at the lake, you will have lunch at your beautiful lodge and enjoy the surrounding.

In the afternoon you will go for a boat ride visiting several islands in the lake, enjoy their beautiful views and learning amazing legends of these island. Head back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala

You will enjoy breakfast and transfer back to Kampala with a stopover in Mbarara Town for lunch, you will arrive in Kampala in the afternoon and be dropped off at your hotel in Kampala or at the airport for your departure flight
