Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Aberdares Samburu & OlPejeta Safari
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Aberdares National Park
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Nairobi, depart to Aberdare National Park by road on a drive of approximately 3-4 hours through coffee and tea plantations.
On arrival in the park, head to your lodge for lunch and a short rest.
In the afternoon, set out for an afternoon game drive exploring the park and enjoy sight of several animals including Giant forest hog, Bush pig, Tree Hyrax, large Spotted Genet, and the elusive Bongo Antelope among others.
Wildlife can be observed from different levels, and from outside where you can see, hear and smell everything and inside where you can sit with a cup of tea and stay warm and cozy.
Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Ark Tree Lodge.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve
Enjoy breakfast then transfer to Samburu National Reserve, travel by road to Kenya’s northern frontier to the wild and rugged reserve located 180 km away.
Check in at your lodge on arrival for lunch and rest. Later in the day depart for a game drive. Samburu National Reserve is one of the most protected areas in Kenya and home to species only found north of the equator, from the reticulated giraffe, Somali Ostrich to Grevy’s Zebras and Beisa Oryx. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Aberdare Country Club.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve
Today we spend the full day in Samburu National Reserve on two game drives – early morning and afternoon game drives. Samburu National Reserve is a rugged and semi-desert reserve, it was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness. Their story was made famous by the best-selling book and award winning move”Born Free”.
Samburu National Reserve is renowned for its rare species of animals unique to the park, namely the long-necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra. Reticulated giraffe and Beisa Oryx.
The elusive Kenya leopard is known to visit the park, especially in the evenings. Other animals in the park include cheetahs and lions, elephant, buffaloes and hippos. Birdlife is in plenty, Samburu boasts over 350 different species of birds including vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches, and others.

Day 4: Ol Pejeta Conservancy
On this day, you will depart Samburu to Ol Pejeta Conservancy arriving in time for lunch.
Have an afternoon game drive with a visit to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Serena Camp.

Day 5: Transfer to Nairobi, Departure
Enjoy breakfast at the camp, then embark on a journey back to Nairobi. Drop off at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport bring your safari to an end.
