Detailed itinerary of 10 Days Rwanda Gorilla and Tanzania Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Welcome to Rwanda
Welcome to Rwanda the “Land of a thousand hills” Our guide will welcome you at the airport to pick you and transfer you your hotel in Kigali for check in and overnight night.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Enjoy breakfast and have a Kigali City tour visiting Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, Kimironko Market and other amazing sites. Then leave for Volcanoes National Park arriving in time for lunch, you will spend the rest of the day enjoying the lodge as you prepare for gorilla trekking experience the following day. Have dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking – Visit Gorillas Guardians Village
Have early breakfast and head to the park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing about gorilla trekking. In groups of 8 people with guidance from your guide, head into the forest looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their last night. You are allowed to spend only hour in the presence of the gorillas watching them play, groom and feed.
After the experience, your driver guide will pick you up and transfer you to the lodge for lunch and down time. In the afternoon, visit the Gorilla Guardians Village. Learn about the culture and history of Rwanda and its people. Try out your bow and arrow shooting skills or basketry etc.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking – Transfer to Kigali
Wake up for breakfast and head to the park again for golden monkey trekking. Golden monkeys are endangered primate species only found in the Virunga Volcanoes of Uganda, Rwanda and Congo. After a short briefing from the ranger guide, you will start your hike up in search of the beautiful and playful golden monkeys.
The golden monkeys are more active than the gorillas and you will follow them as they move to feed. Like gorilla trekking, you are allowed 1 hour with the golden monkey. Return to the lodge, have lunch and freshen up after which you leave for Kigali City. Check in at your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Fly to Arusha
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and transfer you to Kigali International Airport for your flight to Arusha. On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by Tanzania Guide and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha for an evening of rest.
Day 6: Transfer to Serengeti
With your packed lunch boxes, depart for the beautiful Serengeti National Park, where you will arrive in time for an afternoon game drive till late in the evening when you check-in. depending on the time of the you travel, you will witness the Great Migration in addition to the Big Five and other wildlife species.
Day 7-8: Discover The Serengeti
Spend these two days exploring The Serengeti’s vast plains. You will rise early to enjoy an early morning game drives. At sunrise, you will encounter animals grazing in the beautiful light of sunrise and predators may still be busy hunting before retiring to return to your accommodation for a hot lunch or opt for a packed lunch which can be enjoyed at one of the various picnic sites in the park.
After lunch, you will continue on a game drive. Around the time of dusk be on the lookout for lions and cheetahs can be spotted on the plains in the early morning and late afternoon when temperatures are not too high. They rely on daylight and speed to catch their prey. Hippos can be seen in the bigger pools and rivers while crocodiles can be seen sunning themselves on the riverbanks.
Day 9: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater – Crater Drive
After breakfast, you will depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to arrive in time for a picnic lunch at the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. Thereafter, you will have an afternoon game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater. This area is one of the Seven Natural Wonders in Africa and Ngorongoro Crater is the main attraction, fondly known as “Africa’s Garden of Eden”. Being the world’s largest unbroken caldera, Ngorongoro is home to over 25,000 animals. It is considered one of the best game viewing spots in the world with a chance to see the Big Five, zebras and wildebeests.
Day 10: Departure
Depending on your departure flight time, have breakfast and depart for Arusha and continue to Kilimanjaro International Airport.
