Bwindi Lodge – Overlooking the unspoiled and untamed Bwindi Impenetrable National Park across a valley stream, the luxury Bwindi Lodge offers intimate bush lodge accommodation in the Buhoma Sector. This beautiful lodge is elegantly positioned a walking distance from the trailhead, this lovely jungle retreat is an excellent starting point for gorilla trekking in the northern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is one of the two last mountain gorilla strongholds.
This multi-award-winning eco-lodge offers midrange to luxury forest escapes for travelers including private garden cottages, family villas and luxury suites nestled on a forested ridge with be wildering views of the rural landscape.
This beautiful lodge has eight stone and timber glass-fronted bandas which face the lush forest canopy, the ensuite rooms reflect the local building style and provide luxury in an eco-sensitive way. Each guest room features flushing toilets, a double vanity, showers with hot and cold running water and a private balcony from which you can spot wildlife including chimpanzees, mountain gorillas and monkeys.
Guests at the lodge can enjoy delicious meals and evening drink at the cos bar and dining area which overlooks the forested slopes or relax by the fire in the lounge and share their exciting gorilla tracking adventures with fellow guests.

The Rooms
Bwindi Lodge offers accommodation in 9 specially crafted cottages, one of the cottages is offered as Deluxe for a family or honeymooners. The other nine (9) specious chalets sleep two adults with ample space for an extra bed to fit a child under 5 years. Both options benefit from eco-friendly solar lighting, insect-proof window screens and spacious ensuite bathrooms.
The beds are fluffy worm and the en-suite facilities incorporate a flush toilet and spacious washbasin with a walk-in hot rain shower. All chalets have an enchanting veranda where you can take time in between activities to marvel at the gorgeous jungle blanket that sweeps over the lodge’s forefront.
The cottages are named after gorillas in the Buhoma Sector, the décor is the epitome of shabby chic featuring patchwork upholstered chairs, bathroom vanity units made from recycled tin, striped kilims on the floor and hand-sewn quilts on the beds.
Each guest gets a personal butler and complementary massage in the charming Humula Forest Spa secluded somewhere on the property.
Guess of the lodge have their informal tapas-style meals inspired by Ugandan dishes in the main building which also houses the lounge and bar. Guests can make their rolex wrap (a typical local dish) and the delicious Gorillini Cocktail which is a must – have after gorilla trekking in Bwindi.

Activities at Bwindi Lodge
Buhoma Community Village Walk – the walk provides an opportunity to support the local community whilst immersing yourself in the region’s cultural feel on walking trails through the village. Visit the nearby local Bwindi Community Hospital to learn how it is helping to improve the quality of local lives.
A visit to Ride 4 a Women – a local organization supporting native women struggling at home with issues associated with HIV, domestic violence and poverty is soul-enriching. Visitors are invited to view the women working at the local center-sewing, weaving and learning new skills for making a living and helping towards education for their children.
The Batwa Cultural Experience – is a popular activity with guests at Buhoma, Batwa Development Program conducts whole – day experiences around the community’s historical lifestyle in the forest like hunting and gathering skills.
Guided nature hikes – the hikes are organized by Uganda Wildlife Authority and are done along defined forest trails, taking this walk guarantees you a fresh experience of forest flora, fauna and wildlife such as monkeys, forest hogs, elephants and over 23 Albertine endemic bird species. The most popular activity is the 3-4 hour hike to the waterfall, the long hike takes you across Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through two of the oldest trails that is Kasashari River and Ivy Trails.
