Detailed itinerary of 5 Days Uganda Gorillas and Lake Bunyonyi Safari
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Entebbe, you will be met by our representative – your safari driver guide. After a brief briefing about the safari. You will embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with en-route stopover at Kayabwe for pictures at the equator and in Mbarara for lunch.
Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a drive through the rolling hills of Kigezi arriving in the evening. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Accommodation: Buhoma Community Lodge – Budget, Buhoma Haven Lodge – Midrange and Buhoma Lodge – Luxury.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking and the right way to behave while in the presence of mountain gorillas, in groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek. With armed rangers, you will head into the forests of Bwindi in search for mountain gorillas.
The trek takes approximately 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas, along the trek you will spot other forest creatures such as chimpanzees, olive baboons and many birds. Once you find the gorilla family, you will be amazed by their fur covered bodies and how they thrive in the forests of Bwindi. Observe their behavior, watch them interact with each other and take amazing pictures.
Later trek back to the park’s headquarters to pick your gorilla trekking certificates, meet your guide and return to your lodge for an evening of rest. Have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 3: Visit the Batwa and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters and head to the Batwa Community for an interaction with the Batwa pygmies. You will be entertained by local dances and drama, take part in hunting, harvesting fruits and visiting the medicine man which will give you a deeper insight into their lifestyle, culture and traditions.
After lunch, you will embark on a journey to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi where you will arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Boat cruise and relaxation
After breakfast, you can choose to go for a boat cruise visiting and exploring several islands on the lake. Some of the fascinating islands you will is the punishment island where girls who got pregnant before marriage were abandoned to die.
You will spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge, you can swim in the waters of lake (these waters have no hippos, no crocodiles and they are Bilharzia free which makes them suitable for swimming). Have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala
Enjoy breakfast at leisure and embark on a journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch in Mbarara, you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home marking the end of the safari.
