Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Gorillas, Golden Monkey & Lake Bunyonyi Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Entebbe, you will be met by our representative who will brief you about the safari and start your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Kampala – Masaka – Mbarara Highway.
The journey includes a stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for pictures and a chance to stand in both Northern and Southern Hemispheres, and in Mbarara for lunch. Continue to Bwindi Forest arriving in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Wake up early for breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. A senior ranger guide from UWA will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the gorillas as well as in the forest. Then enter into the jungle to search for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 – 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
Once you locate the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence, watch them play, laugh, feed, and groom each other and more. You are free to take pictures as long as your flashlight is off as it may irritate the gorillas. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day3: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After breakfast, bid farewell to Bwindi and head to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park for close encounters with the endangered golden monkeys. This is a journey of 2-3 hours and once you arrive in the park, check in at your lodge, and enjoy lunch and short rest.
In the afternoon you will go for a visit to the Batwa People in their local community, here you will be entertained by local dances and drama, interact with the elders and visit to the local medicine where you will learn how various herbs are used to cure various illnesses. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After a morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters for briefing about golden monkey trekking and the right way to behave. Then head into the mountainous jungle of Mgahinga in search for the golden monkeys, the trek takes approximately 2-3 hours to find these beautiful primates found in the bamboo forests.
You will spend one hour watching these playful primates play, feed, pick fruits and don’t be surprised when they come close to you. Take as many photos as possible and trek back to the park headquarters, meet your driver guide and return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an afternoon boat cruise on this beautiful lake, visiting the various islands found in the lake.
After a morning breakfast and briefing at the park headquarters you start the journey to the jungle in search for the Golden monkey primates.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala
Enjoy a delicious breakfast, check out and embark on a journey to Lake Bunyonyi with en-route lunch in Mbarara. The journey rewards you with awe-inspiring views of rolling hills, towering mountains, farmlands and stretching grasslands among others.
