Detailed Itinerary of 3 Days Gorilla & Golden Monkey Trekking Through Kigali
Day 1: Pick in Kigali – Kigali City Tour & Transfer to Bwindi
On arrival at Kigali International Airport – Rwanda, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide. Depending on your flight time, you will have a short Kigali City Tour visiting the Kigali Conventional Centre, Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre and the Kimironko Market.
Then embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through a very scenic and hilly country of a thousand hills to the Pearl of Africa. You will cross to Uganda either at Katuna border in Kabale Town or Chanika Border (Kisoro Town) before proceeding to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in the evening for check-in at your lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 2:Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Have early breakfast, meet your guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking. A senior guide from Uganda Wildlife Authority will take you through dos and don’t’s to follow on this amazing trek. In groups of 8 people headed by an armed ranger guide, head into the forests in Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas.
The trek through Bwindi Forest takes approximately 2-6 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas and where they spent their previous night, along the trek you will encounter other forest creatures such as elephants and monkeys. When you locate the gorilla family, you will be allowed one hour of being in the presence of mountain gorillas, observe them go on with their life in the forest, groom each other and peak fruits and leaves to eat. You are allowed to take pictures as long as your flash light is off, as it irritates the gorillas and might make them agitated.
Trek back to the starting point, pick your gorilla certificate, meet your guide and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park head back to your lodge.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & Departure
Today you will meet the endangered golden monkeys, after breakfast you will meet your driver guide and head to the park headquarters for briefing about golden monkey trekking conducted by a senior ranger guide who will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the golden monkeys.
Head into the forest searching for golden monkeys, the trek is relatively shorter taking about 2-3 hours. Spend one hour observing the behavior of these beautiful primates as they feed, play and groom each other in the bamboo forest. After this amazing experience, return to the starting point, meet your driver guide and embark on a journey back to Kigali with en-route lunch.
You will be dropped off at the airport to mark the end of your safari.
