Bwindi impenetrable national park in a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best in the world to do mountain gorilla trekking experience, on gorilla trekking activity you will visit one of the habituated gorilla families in jungle of Bwindi and you will spend one hour in their presence.

Day 1: Depart for Bwindi

Upon arrival a Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel, you will meet your safari driver guide who will give you a short brief about the safari and what to expect then embark on a journey to Bwindi.

On the way, you will have a stopover at Kayabwe for pictures on the Equator landmark where the world is divided into two hemispheres and get to stand in the Northern and Southern hemispheres in one place. You will have another stopover in Mbarara for lunch.

Proceed to the park arriving in evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day Two: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest

After early breakfast, you will head to the park’s headquarters with your packed for briefing about gorilla trekking and the rules and regulations to follow, meet other trekkers, be grouped into 8 people and be assigned a gorilla family to trek.

Set off into the forests of Bwindi with armed rangers and guides in search for mountain gorillas, he trek takes approximately 4-6 hours depending on the gorilla family you are trekking and where they stayed the previous night.

Hiking through the jungle of Bwindi is a mysterious and wonderful experience on which you will encounter various bird species, when you find the gorillas, you will spend one hour in their presence observing and watching the group go on with their daily lives from a distance of 8 meters. You are allowed to take pictures as long as your flash light is off.

Return to the park’s headquarters where you will be rewarded with gorilla trekking certificates then head to your hotel for an evening of relaxation or head to the Batwa Community where you will be entertained by local dances and drama and learn more about their culture and traditions which depicts what was once their life in forests of Bwindi before it was gazetted as national park.

Day 3: Departure

After breakfast, you will checkout of your lodge and head back to Kampala with stops in Mbarara for lunch. When you arrive in Kampala you will be dropped off either at the hotel or at the airport for your departure flight back home.
