Detailed itinerary of 10 Days Uganda Safari
Day 1: Head to Murchison Falls National Park – Stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Visit the top of the falls
Soon after breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala and embark on a journey to Murchison Falls National Park – the largest National Park in Uganda and home to 76 species of mammals and over 450 bird species.
Along the way you will have a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos on foot, the sanctuary was established to protect the last remaining rhinos of Uganda and now it is home to over 30 individuals which you will see on foot. After spending time with the rhinos, you will have lunch in Masindi Town and proceed to the park. Head straight to top of the Murchison Falls, watch as the River Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge before dropping in a thunderous roar leaving behind a beautiful rainbow. Head to your lodge for a shower, refreshments, relaxation and rest. relaxation and rest.

Day 2: Game drive and a Boat cruise along the Nile
Wake up early for breakfast, head to the park for an early morning game drive.
Murchison Falls National Park is a vast savannah park, home to a high concentration of wildlife which you will see during the game drive. Lookout for lions, giraffes, hyenas, elephants and countless antelopes.
After the game drive you will head to the lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise at the bottom of Murchison Falls, expect to experience the unique biodiversity surrounding this part of Nile River and see various animals including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks and several bird species. The boat cruise ends at the bottom of the falls hence offering you different views and experiences.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest – Visit the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary
Wake up at leisure, have breakfast as you wait for your driver-guide and head to Kibale Forest National Park via Fort Portal. Along the way you will bypass small towns, lakes, forests and local people doing business or tending to their farms. Enjoy lunch in Fort Portal while marveling at the majestic views of the Rwenzori Ranges of Mountains.
Continue to your lodge, check-in and shower, then go for a guided walk in the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary, home to over 10 species of primates and an amazing collection of birds. The walk also gives you a chance to interact with the local people and learn about several local projects for women in the area.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up early and head to the park for chimpanzee trekking, have briefing about the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking by a senior ranger guide. Head into the forests of Kibale looking for chimpanzees, the trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on where the chimpanzees spent their previous night. When you locate the chimpanzee group you are allocated one hour of being in their presence, watching them play from tree branches, groom each other and take as many videos and pictures as possible.
Trek back to the park headquarters, meet your guide and head to your lodge for lunch. Later embark on a journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving in late afternoon, spend the rest of the day at your lodge, have dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning Game drive – Launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel
Wake up early, have breakfast and head to the park for a morning game drive along the Kasenyi Plains. The area offers opportunities to spot lions, leopards, wild dogs, elephants, hyenas, antelopes among others.
Head back to your lodge for lunch, in the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. One of the prominent features in Queen Elizabeth National Park connecting Lake George to Lake Edward, as you cruise you will enjoy sightings of hippos and crocodiles in the waters, elephants and buffaloes on the shores as well as several bird species.

Day 6: Nature Walk in Maramagambo forest and the Kyambura Gorge
Wake up early for breakfast, then head to Maramagambo forest for a guided walk designed to allow visitors to observe several bird species, primates including wild chimpanzees, red tailored monkeys among others.
In the afternoon, you will head to the famous Kyambura Gorge – an underground forest for chimpanzee trekking experience. Kyambura Gorge is home to an incredible collection of birds and several primates including chimpanzees which you will observe for a one hour duration. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Game drive to see tree climbing lions – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Have breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a drive in the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions. You will see these rare lions lounging on tree branches.
Continue to Bwindi arriving in the late afternoon, spend the rest of the day at leisure, have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Gorilla Tracking – Visit the Batwa in Bwindi
On this eventful day, wake up early and head to the park for gorilla trekking with your packed lunch. Have briefing at the park headquarters for briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. In groups of 8 people, head into the forests of Bwindi looking for a gorilla family assigned to you. The trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and their location, once you get to them you are allowed only one hour of observation. Make good use of this time to study the group and individual members, don’t forget to take as many beautiful photos and videos as possible.
Return to the starting point, meet your guide and head to the Batwa Community for a cultural experience. Interact with the local people, be entertained by local dances and drama, and visit the medicine man among others giving you a deeper insight into their culture and traditions.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Afternoon boat cruise
After breakfast, checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Lake Mburo National Park. The journey takes you through an area known as the “Switzerland of Africa”, expect to see green terraced hills, valleys and vast banana plantations. Have lunch in Mbarara Town before continue to the park, you will head to Lake Mburo for a boat cruise. Enjoy seeing several animals along the shores of the lake such as zebras, buffaloes and antelopes among others. With enroute game drive you will head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Morning game drive – Return to Kampala or Entebbe
Have early breakfast and head to the park for morning game drive on which you will spot several animals including zebras, warthogs, giraffes, impalas, hyenas, buffaloes and leopards among others.
Alternatively, you can do a horseback riding safari getting a closer encounter with the animals such as giraffes, zebras among others. Later embark on a journey back to Kampala with a stop at the Equator landmark for pictures. When you arrive in Kampala, you will be dropped off at airport for your flight back home bring your safari to an end.
