Detailed itinerary of 5 Days Double Gorilla Trekking Safari – Uganda and Rwanda
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes National Park and visit the Twin Lakes
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide and after a short briefing you will embark a journey to Volcanoes National Park. You enjoy a short Kigali City depending on your time of arrival, later embark on a journey of 3 hours to Volcanoes National Park arriving in time for lunch at your lodge.
Later in the afternoon you will head to the Twin Lakes – Burera and Ruhondo for a guided and boat cruise. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park and visit the Dian Fossey Research Camp
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing conducted by a ranger guide who will take through rules and regulations to follow in the forest, in groups of 8 people you will be assigned a gorilla family to trek and head in the forests of looking for mountain gorillas.
The trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours depending on the movement of mountain gorillas and where they spent the previous night, when you locate the gorillas you will spend one hour watching the gorillas play on tree branches and grooming each other. After the magical hour with these fluffy creatures, you will trek back to the park headquarters to meet your guide and head to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will head to Dian Fossey Research Center where you will get a deeper insight on the conservation of mountain gorillas and the research conducted on them. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and visit the Batwa People
Wake up early for breakfast and checkout of your lodge and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with border crossing either at Katuna or Cyanika Border, arrive in time for lunch at your lodge after check-in. In the afternoon you will head to the Batwa Community for a cultural visit, you will be entertained by local dances and drama, visit the medicine man, witness the demonstration they high skilled hunting tactics among others. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
Have early breakfast and head to the Bwindi Park headquarters for briefing conducted by a ranger guide, in groups of 8 people you will trek into the forest of Bwindi looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours and it can be strenuous as you trek through unevenly landscape, when you locate the gorillas. You will spend one hour with the gorilla family watching the gorillas play, groom each other and pick fruits. You are allowed to take pictures as long as your flash light is off.
After the trek, you will return to the park headquarters to meet your guide and embark on a journey to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi – the deepest lake in Uganda and the second in Uganda. On arrival, you will have dinner and spend overnight.

Day 5: Boat Safari and transfer back to Kigali City
Wake up on the scenic views of the lake, enjoy breakfast and go for a boat ride on the calm waters of Lake Bunyonyi. You will visit several islands of in the lake while getting information and legendary stories of each island from your guide.
With your packed lunch boxes, embark on a drive back to Kigali City where you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home.
