DETAILED ITINERARY OF 3 DAYS GORILLA TOUR RWANDA
Day 1: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will be picked from the Kigali international airport upon arrival or from the hotel after breakfast, after a short briefing about the tour you will head to Kigali city for a tour visiting the Gisozi genocide memorial site where you will learn how over 300,000 people lost their lives in 1994, visit the local markets, the Kings palace and then have lunch.
After lunch you will embark on a journey to Volcanoes National Park while enjoying beautiful views of the mountainous countryside along the way which will give you a true definition to why Rwanda is called the Land of a thousand hills. Upon reaching the park, you will check into your lodge, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: gorilla trek – Iby’iwacu cultural village visit
Wake up early for breakfast and head to the park’s headquarters in Kinigi, Musanze for briefing about gorilla trekking and joining other trekkers, as the trekking is going on you will be entertained by local dances and drama. Depending on your physical fitness, you will assigned a gorilla family and hire a porter, with ranger guides you will head into the jungle looking for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2-6 hours depending on the gorilla family you are trekking and when you find them, you will spend one hour in the presence of the gorillas observing their behavior, watching the little ones playing and take pictures as long as your flashlight is off (the flashlight irritates the gorillas).
You will then head back to the park’s headquarters’ where you will be rewarded with gorilla trekking certificates, the head o he lodge for lunch and a short relaxation. In the evening you will be taken to the Iby’iwacu cultural visit in Musanze situated near the park, in the village you will be entertained by local dances and drama, witness the crowning of the king and take part in several activities such as milking of the cattle, making of local alcohol from bananas among others. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali City departure
Wake up a bit late, have breakfast as you prepare for your trip back to Kigali City, you will be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali or to the airport for your flight back home or next destination. In case you missed a Kigali city tour on the first day, you will do it on the day of departure.
