This 8 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari is a combined safari taking you on an adventurous journey to experience the playful chimpanzees, endangered mountain gorillas, wildlife and stunning landscape of both Uganda and Rwanda.
This journey starts in Rwanda and ends in Uganda.
On a Rwanda Safari, you will visit Nyungwe Forest National Park and Volcanoes Natonal Park. On Uganda safari, you will visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

Detailed itinerary of 8 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative – your personal driver guide and transfer to your hotel for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre in Kigali and learn about the horrific 1994 Rwanda genocide of 1994.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast, you will meet your guide and embark on a journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park. It is a journey of 5 hours, along the way you will visit the Royal Palace Museum and the Ethnographic Museum, both which will give you a deeper understanding of the history and traditional ways of the people of people.
You will reach Nyungwe in time for lunch and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Overnight at One & Only Nyungwe.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe
You will have a very early start with breakfast and head to the park headquarters for briefing about chimpanzee trekking, you will be assigned with the Cyamudongo or Uwinka Sectors and then head into the forest in search for the chimpanzees. The trek takes approximately 30 minutes to 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the chimpanzees, you are allocated only one hour of being in the presence of the chimpanzees watching them go on with their life in forest.
Return to the park headquarters, meet your guide and return to the lodge for lunch. Later, checkout and drive to Volcanoes National Park in a town of Musanze. The park lies on the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes and is a gateway to golden monkey and mountain gorilla trekking in Rwanda. In the evening you will enjoy campfire and some entertainment of some local dance groups.

Day 4: Hike to Dian Fossey Grave Site and Transfer to Bwindi
Start your day early with breakfast, then drive to the park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park and start your hike to the Dian Fossey Grave site where she is buried alongside some gorillas.
From the hike, you will drive towards the Rwanda – Uganda border and then continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
Today is the climax of your 8 Days Uganda Rwanda Safari, prepare yourself for an encounter with the gentle giants, the rare mountain gorillas.
Wake up early for breakfast and head in the park headquarters for briefing about mountain gorillas, a ranger guide will take you through the rules and regulations to follow on gorilla trekking and while in the forest. Then enter into the forest of Bwindi in search of mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately for 30 minutes to 6 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
When you locate the gorillas, you will are allowed to spend one hour in the gorillas watching them go on with their life in the forests, observe female gorilla grooming their babies and take as many photos and videos as you wish. Trek back to the park headquarters, meet your guide and head back to your lodge for an evening of rest.

Day 6: Batwa Community and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After breakfast, head to the Batwa Community for a village visit. On this cultural experience you will learn about the lives of the Batwa Pygmy people who initially lived in Bwindi Forest before it was gazetted as a protected area. Expect to be entertained by local dances and drama, visit the medicine man, witness their high skills in hunting and taste local brew.
Then later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – a serena lake and the second deepest lake in Africa, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Experience Lake Bunyonyi
Today, you can enjoy the beauty of Lake Bunyonyi by swimming in its bilharzia free waters, sunbathing or boat cruise.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, you will leave Lake bunyonyi and embark on a journey back to Entebbe with en-route lunch in Mbarara and a stopover at the Equator Monument for some photos and souvenir shopping.
You will be dropped off either at the hotel or at Entebbe International Airport bring your safari to an end.
