Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Rwanda – Uganda Double Trek
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Arrive at Kigali International Airport, meet our representative, your driver-guide and go for a Kigali City Tour with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, the local markets and Art Centres.
After lunch you will embark on a transfer to Volcanoes National Park by road. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at rest as you prepare for tomorrow’s early wake up call.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Tracking and Transfer back to Kigali
Enjoy an early breakfast before transferring to the park headquarters in Kinigi for briefing about gorilla trekking. A senior ranger guide will take you through the rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the gorillas. Be grouped into 8 people, head into the forest with your ranger guides looking for a gorilla family assigned to you.
The gorilla trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Spend one hour with the gorillas watching them play, feed and groom each other. Later return to your lodge for lunch and later check out for a transfer back to Kigali arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Enjoy breakfast, then embark on a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with border crossing at Cyanika Border. It is a journey of 4 hours to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park arriving in time for lunch.
Spend the afternoon at leisure or go for a visit to the local communities surrounding the park for a cultural encounter. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Optional Batwa Pygmy Cultural Tour
Enjoy an early sumptuous breakfast and proceed for a transfer to the park headquarters for briefing about gorilla trekking and allocation of a gorilla family to trek in groups of 8 people. Head into the forest search for mountain gorillas, the trek takes approximately 2 to 6 hours or more with one hour of being in presence of the gorillas watching them play, feed and groom each other.
Return to the park headquarters to pick your trekking certificates, return to the lodge for freshening up and short rest. In the evening you will head to the Batwa Community for a culture experience. Here you will be entertained by local dances and drama, visit the medicine man, among others giving a deeper insight into their life. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy your last breakfast in the jungle of Bwindi Forest, later checkout and proceed with the journey back to Kigali for a drop-off at Kigali International Airport for your onward flight.
