Detailed Itinerary of 6 Days Uganda Primates Trekking
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be meet by a Sambu Africa Safaris representative and set off on a journey to Murchison Falls National Park – the largest national park in Uganda.
The drive takes approximately five hours through the lush countryside and rural villages. Upon arrival at the park, proceed straight to the Top of Murchison Falls – a dramatic site where you will see the River Nile squeezing through a narrow gorge of 7 meter before crashing into a waterfall below with a thunderous roar. With a short game drive you will continue to your lodge for check-in, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Wetland Walk
Wake up early for a game drive across the northern banks of the Nile Delta where you will see several animals including lions, buffaloes, giraffes, Jackson’s hartebeest, oribi, and the occasional leopards stalking their prey in the golden grasslands.
Return to the lodge for breakfast, the later head out for a boat cruise of two hours along the Nile toward the base of the Murchison Falls. Along the riverbanks, watch out for schools of hippos, crocodiles basking on the banks, and several water birds including the rare shoebill stork.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and embark on a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the Albertine Rift. This long and scenic drive offers breathtaking views of Lake Albert, the Rwenzori Mountains, Kibale Forest, and the crater lakes of western Uganda.
Along the way you will enjoy lunch, expect to arrive in Bwindi in the evening, check in at your lodge and spend the evening at rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Enjoy an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch boxes. A senior ranger guide will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the gorillas. In groups of 8 people you will be assigned one of the habituated gorilla families, enter into the forest searching for mountain gorillas.
The trek takes approximately 2 to 5 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Spend an hour watching these gentle giants go on with their lives. Afterwards, trek back to the starting point, meet your driver guide and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, check in at your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking and Lake Bunyonyi Visit
After breakfast, head to Mgahinga’s Park headquarters for briefing about golden monkey trekking conducted by a Uganda Wildlife Authority Representative. Head into the forest looking for these beautiful playful primates found in the bamboo forests, spend an hour watching them play, feed and groom each other.
Later trek back to the starting point, meet your driver-guide and head to the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, relaxing at the beautiful shores or go for a boat cruise or swim in the lake.

Day 6: Departure
