This 4 Days Gorilla Trek & Habituation Experience Safari is an ideal gorilla safari package for visitors interested in an immersive gorilla trekking experience. On this tour you will take part in gorilla trekking on which you will have an encounter with a habituated gorilla family for one hour and gorilla habituation experience (only done in Bwindi’s Rushaga Sector), for a hour hours’ encounter with a semi-habituated gorilla family.

Detailed Itinerary of 4 Days Gorilla Trek & Habituation Experience Safari
Day 1: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Park
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport or after breakfast at your hotel in Entebbe, you will be meet by our guide and connect for your domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is a flight of approximately one hour and on landing at Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip you will be met by your driver-guide and be transferred to your lodge for lunch and short rest.
Late in the day, you will head to the local community for a cultural experience. Here you will be entertained by local dances and drama, interact with the elders, visit the medicine man among others giving you a deeper insight into the life of these forest people. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Enjoy an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing session from the Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides. You will be taken through rules and regulations to follow while in presence of the gorillas, and in groups of 8 people you will head into the forest search for mountain gorillas. The trek takes approximately 2-6 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
You will be allowed to spend one hour in their presence, watching them play, feed and groom each other. At all times you should keep a distance of 8 meters. Later retrace back to the starting point, meet your driver guide and drive to Rushaga Sector, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Gorilla Habituation Experience
Enjoy an early breakfast and head to Rushaga Sector for gorilla habituation experience (This is the only place in the world where gorilla habituation experience is offered). After briefing about the experience, you will head into the forest searching for a semi-habituated gorilla group together with researchers and scientists. The experience takes a whole day with one hour of being in presence of a semi-habituated gorilla family, watch researchers and scientists train these wild gorilla to be friendly to human presence, collect samples and observe their individual characteristics.
After this immersive gorilla trekking experience, retrace back to the starting point and return to your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Enjoy a delicious morning breakfast and be transferred to Kihihi Airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe International Airport where you will connect for your onward international flight, brining your safari to an end.
