4 Days Uganda Safari
This 4 Days Uganda Safari is a short Uganda safari offering visitors a chance to visit two of the most prominent safari destinations in Uganda; Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will see the endangered mountain gorillas and four of the Big Five – lions, leopards, cape buffaloes and elephants among other wildlife species as well as birdlife.

Detailed Itinerary of 4 Days Uganda Safari
Day 1: Pick up from Entebbe or Kampala – Transfer to Bwindi National Park
To mark the start of your Uganda Safari, your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel after early morning breakfast and embark on an 8 hours journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Southwest Uganda. Along the way you will enjoy views of the countryside and local people going on with their life.
Have a stop at the Equator Crossing for pictures and the Igongo Cultural centre in Mbarara for pictures. Expect to arrive at your lodge in Bwindi Forest in the evening, check-in, dinner and overnight.
Dinner and overnight at Chameleon Hill Lodge (luxury), Bakiga Lodge (Midrange) and Tarvan Trekkers Bwindi (Budget).
Day 2: Gorilla trekking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up early, take your breakfast and then head to the park headquarters for briefing. a senior ranger guide from Uganda Wildlife Authority will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the forest and presence of the gorillas. You will be assigned a gorilla family to trek, head into the forest looking for mountain gorillas on a trek of approximately 2 to 6 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
Spend one hour with the gorilla family watching them play, feed and groom each other. You will also get an opportunity to realize who they are similar to humans, take amazing pictures and later return to the starting point to pick your gorilla trekking certificates. Return to your lodge to refresh and later check out and drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha Sector where you might get a chance to see the rare tree climbing lions. Check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game drive in Kasenyi Sector – Boat Cruise at the Kazinga Channel and transfer to Kibale Forest
Wake up early for breakfast, and head out for a morning game drive in the Kasenyi Plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The morning game drive allows you to spot the early risers and predators from a night of hunting. Be on a lookout for leopards, hyenas, lions, buffaloes, antelopes, elephants, warthogs and many other mammals. After the game drive, you will head to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise on which you will explore the channel connecting Lake George to Lake Edward. As you glide, keep an eye out for herds of elephants and buffaloes on the shores, hippos and crocodiles in the water and several water bird species like herons and crested cranes among others.
Return to the lodge for lunch, later check out and drive to Kibale Forest National Park with en-route game drive. Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in at your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest – Transfer back to Kampala
Wake up early for breakfast and head to Kibale Forest for briefing on chimpanzee trekking at the park headquarters conducted by a ranger guide. Head into the forest searching for chimpanzees, these primates are very different from the gorillas, they are more intelligent but not as wise as gorillas because their family relationships are not strong. A dominate male chimpanzees has to work harder to maintain his hold on the troop. Also, chimpanzees are more dramatic and mobile than gorilla families.
Chimpanzee trekking takes approximately 2 to 4 hours depending on the movement of the chimpanzees and where they spent their previous night. Spend one hour watching them play, feed and groom each other. After the experience you will get into your vehicles and embark on a journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch. You will be dropped off at the airport for your onward flight, bringing your Uganda safari to an end.
