Detailed Itinerary of 5 Days Rwanda Gorillas and Wildlife Honeymoon Safari
Day 1: Pick up from Hotel in Kigali and Drive to Volcanoes National Park
Breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, meet your driver-guide – Our Company Representative and go for a Kigali City Tour with a visit to Kigali Genocide Memorial Site and Art Centres. Then drive to Volcanoes National Park after lunch.
Arrive in Ruhengeri in the late afternoon, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at rest getting ready for tomorrow’s early wake up call.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Enjoy an early breakfast and head to the Volcanoes National Park Headquarters in Kinigi for briefing about gorilla trekking, rules and regulations to follow and how to conduct yourself while in the forest. Head into the forest in groups of 8 people searching for a habituated gorilla family, the trek takes approximately 2 to 4 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night. Spend one hour in their presence watching them play, feed and groom each other. Return to your lodge for relaxation and rest as you wait for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Drive to Akagera National Park
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge, check out and depart for Akagera National Park in North East of Rwanda with en-route lunch. Arrive in the evening, check in at your lodge, followed by a short relaxation and evening game drive. A special private dinner will be arrange for you to celebrate your honeymoon.
Located in the north east region of Rwanda along the border with Tanzania, Akagera National Park is the only savannah park in Rwanda and home to the Big Five. The park is the best place in Rwanda to see wildlife.

Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema
Today you will enjoy an early morning game drive and a boat cruise on Lake Ihema in Akagera National Park. game drives in Akagera is a great way to explore the savannah plains and encounter several wildlife species including the Big Five – lion, leopard, cape buffalo, rhinos and elephants, as well as zebras, rhinos, giraffes and several bird species.
The boat ride on Lake Ihema offers an opportunity for more wildlife sightings including marine animals such as hippos and crocodiles at a safe range. Lake Ihama has a great concentration of over 500 bird species including the pre-historic shoebill, herons, jacanas, Ibis and gonolek among others. After the exciting boat ride, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Morning game drive and drive back to Kigali
After breakfast at your lodge, go for a short gam drive in Akagera National Park as you exit the park and proceed to Kigali City where you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home or to your next destination.
