Day 1: Kigali to Bwindi Forest
To start your gorilla safari to Bwindi, you shall be picked up by our company representative – your driver-guide from your hotel in Kigali or at Kigali International Airport upon arrival. After a short briefing about the safari and what to expect you will journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with border crossing at Cyanika Border.
After clearing with the Immigration Authorities, continue with the journey to Bwindi driving through the beautiful green hills of Kisoro. Enjoy en-route lunch and when you arrive in the park, check in at your lodge and spend the rest of the day at rest preparing for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Habituation Experience
Wake up early for breakfast, with your packed lunch boxes you will be driven to the park headquarters for briefing by a ranger guide. He will take you through rules and regulations to follow while in the presence of the gorillas, in groups of 8 people you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek, head into the forest looking for mountain gorillas. Led by armed rangers and guides together with scientists and researchers, head into the forest looking for a semi-habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek takes approximately 2 to 5 hours or more depending on the movement of the gorillas and where they spent their previous night.
On locating the gorilla family, spend four hour in their presence watching them play, feed and groom each other. You will also take part in collecting samples on the gorillas, learn their distinctive characters and name and be part in the gorilla habituation process, in which gorillas are trained to be comfortable with human presence.
After the experience, you will return back to the park headquarters to pick your gorilla habituation certificates, then return to your lodge for an evening of rest, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Departure
After a leisurely breakfast at the lodge, you will check out and journey back to Kigali with lunch enjoyed en-route. You will be dropped off either at the hotel or at Kigali International Airport. This brings your Gorilla Habituation Safari to an end.
